Highranks

Leader

Thornstar

The “old man” of the leaders, and he acts like it too, but despite his age there’s a ton of strength still left in him. He’s a black and white maine coon cat with a very thick pelt, and piercing yellow eyes that sometimes almost look orange. He isn’t as unfriendly as you would assume, rather he just likes being isolated to do… Well, nobody really knows what he gets up to.You can often find him deep in the wooded marshes of ShadowClan, looking up at the stars or down into the murky water. Just… staring, aimlessly, into the distance. But when the time comes when he is needed to help with something, Thornstar may emerge once more for his clan or any clan going through troubles. Most of the diplomatic work (such as going to gatherings and giving reports) is otherwise left to his deputy.

Deputy

Darkheart

Tradtional as much as Thornstar, Darkheart's ideals are focused entirely on Shadowclan maintaining a strong and preserving attitude. But behind this stalwart personality, this deputy is a very is an unstable individual. Warrior blood has stained her claws many times due to her fierce ideals. Traitors and deserters are disgraceful, and Darkheart believes there is no room for laziness or questionable loyalty. Perhaps in time, as tension rise in the forest because of Bloodclan, this unstable nature will catch up with her eventually… assuming Shadowclan survives long enough to witness her reign.

Medicine Cat

Saffrondream

Entering the world of League as a medicine cat after Nightshade, Saffrondream is a slender calico she-cat with sleek, medium-length fur—splashes of burnt orange, ink black, and stormcloud gray color her frame like spilled dyes. Her eyes are an unnaturally vibrant amethyst purple. Her overall demeanor has been a reassuring balm on the political pressures between Shadowclan and the rest of the forest. And her ascension into Medicine cat status marks the survival of a traditional way of life that has dominated the heart of the clans for generations. But is it enough?

Lifestyle

Shadowclan thrives in a world of perpetual twilight. Their lifestyle revolves around their ability to blend seamlessly into this dark and tangled environment, utilizing their surroundings to their advantage both in hunting and defense.

Shadowclan Territory

Shadowclan's territory is a sprawling network of murky swamps, dense underbrush, and dense spruce. The ground is often damp and treacherous, covered in thick layers of decaying leaves and tangled roots. The canopy overhead is dense, allowing minimal sunlight to penetrate and further shroud the terrain in darkness.

Morning Assignments

At dawn, when the mist is still thick over the marshlands, Shadowclan warriors begin their day with a quiet patrol. They move silently through the undergrowth, their dark fur blending with the shadows. Patrols are crucial for marking territory and ensuring that no intruders have ventured into their domain. These early morning outings are often led by the deputy or an experienced warrior, and they are followed by a thorough check of the camp’s perimeter.Once patrols return, apprentices may gather for brief training sessions. Apprentices learn the art of stealth and tracking, honing their skills to become expert hunters and defenders. Training often involves practice in navigating the slippery, uneven ground and perfecting the art of moving silently through the dense vegetation.

Sunhigh

As the sun rises higher, the temperature warms slightly, and the marshlands become more active. Shadowclan cats take advantage of this time for hunting. Their prey, which includes various small mammals, birds, and amphibians, is well adapted to the same shadowy environment. Hunters use the cover of the marshes and undergrowth to stalk their quarry silently. They employ strategic ambush techniques, waiting motionless in the shadows until the perfect moment to strike. After a successful hunt, the catch is brought back to the camp where it is shared among the clan. The fresh kill is eaten quickly, with the remainder being stored in a designated part of the camp to ensure that no food goes to waste. The afternoon is a time for maintenance and communal activities. Warriors and apprentices engage in tasks such as repairing dens, grooming each other, and conducting additional training. Elders and queens are often visited by younger clan members who offer support and companionship. The clan’s healers, or medicine cats, gather herbs from the surrounding marshes, maintaining a supply of remedies and treatments for any injuries or illnesses.

Evening Patrol

As twilight falls, Shadowclan's true nature emerges. The clan becomes more active, and evening patrols are conducted to ensure that their territory remains secure. The cats of Shadowclan are particularly adept at using the darkness to their advantage during these patrols, making them difficult to detect by outsiders. The evening meal is a quieter affair, with members of the clan gathering in small groups to share stories and discuss the events of the day. This is also a time for strategic planning, where the leaders and senior warriors review the clan’s current state and discuss any threats or opportunities.

Moonhigh

Nighttime is when Shadowclan is at its most formidable. The clan is adept at moving through the dark, using their excellent night vision and knowledge of the terrain to conduct additional patrols or to engage in any necessary defensive actions. Their camp, hidden deep within the shadows, is well protected and frequently monitored. Guards are posted to watch for any potential threats, and elders remain vigilant throughout the night while others rest.
